Coloured engraved caricature by George Cruikshank. This is a critical caricature that comments on the economic aspect of the American War of 1812. It shows the Admiralty being besieged by merchants from Liverpool, Glasgow etc. who have had their ships captured. They bear petitions calling for more protection and ask for some of the British bulldogs inside the Admiralty to be unmuzzled. Inside the members of the the Board of Admiralty are seen snoozing away. Above the building Nelson is rising from the clouds 'Awake, Arise or be forever fallen'. Published by Thomas Tegg 14th September 1814, No.111 Cheapside, London.
